The monetization feature begins to be implemented this Tuesday (26) in the United States
In another step towards bringing the experience closer to that offered by TikTok, Facebook announced that it will share revenue from licensed music by popular artists used in videos and that have in-stream ads with content creators. The platform’s catalog brings together artists such as Post Malone, Tove Lo, Grupo La Cambia, Leah Kate and Bicep.
The monetization feature begins to be implemented this Tuesday (26) in the United States and should reach other markets in the coming months, according to the company’s forecast.
Among the requirements to have access to monetization, called Music Revenue Sharing, the video must have at least 60 seconds and have visual components. Also, the licensed music cannot be the main part of the video.
The platform also lists some criteria that creators must meet, such as eligibility of videos for in-stream ads, monetization standards and compliance with community standards and music guidelines.
