Today, Duolingo launches its newest campaign, exclusive to Brazil. The app selected three students from the country on their social networks to participate in the action, with inspiring stories of how the app helped them achieve their goals or overcome some difficulty.
The campaign, created by the advertising agency JOTACOM, will be published on the platform’s social networks – YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. Check out the stories below:
Alexandre Ribeiro, an English and German student, was born in the favela of Torre, in Diadema (SP) and after learning English on the app, he had the opportunity to travel to do volunteer work in Hamburg, Germany. There, he won a scholarship to attend a college in the country with the help of the Duolingo English Test (DET) – a remote and accessible English proficiency test created by the platform, which is already accepted in more than three thousand institutions around the world. like Harvard and NYU.
Denise Scassa, a French student, started using Duolingo when she was planning a trip to France during cancer treatment. She found in the app an escape from the difficult time she was living and, at the same time, a way to exercise her brain while she was in the hospital. Wellington Victoriana uses Duolingo on a daily basis to learn English. Before, he had difficulties studying the language, but with the help of the app, he lost his fear and managed to evolve in learning, which became a differential for his work and career, and now he feels prepared to conduct international meetings.

“In this campaign, we highlight the best and most precious thing about Duolingo: our students. The incredible stories of Alexandre, Denise and Wellington show that we are on the right path and in line with our main mission – which is to offer the best education in the world for everyone – and inspire others to learn a new language and not give up on your goals. Duolingo not only teaches languages, it can transform lives in many ways through the power of education.”
