Increasingly present in users’ lives, the video streaming platform market has the peculiarity of making many users consume content from more than one company. According to a Twitter survey with internal data, this percentage of people reaches 82% in Brazil.
Netflix, 85%, Amazon Prime Video, 59%, and Globoplay, 53%, are among the most used platforms. Following are Disney+, 41%, HBO Max, 41%, YouTube Premium, 34%, Star+, 19%, Apple TV+, 11% and Mubi, 2%.
Netflix also led the number of conversations on Twitter with 64%, followed by HBO Max, 16%, and Globoplay, 9%, between the months of November 2021 to April 2022.
Among the attributes observed by users when subscribing to streaming platforms, are the convenience of watching on various devices, such as smartphones, tablets and TVs, and at different times, 61% and 54%, respectively; the ease of searching for content, 48%; and the possibility of discovering new content, 47%.
For those who do not subscribe to the platform, a percentage that represents 14% of Twitter users, the first reason is the high cult, 33%. In addition, elements such as the lack of compatible devices, 11%, not being able to find content they like, 11%, and using someone else’s paid streaming account, 7%.
On Twitter, the experience users have with streaming platforms translates into readings and sharing opinions about services and products for 46% of people. 39% like to comment live and 36% like to read reviews.
The survey gathered internal data and tweets published between January 11, 2021 and April 30, 2022.
