Agreement between Prosus and the app provides for the payment of 1.5 billion euros
The Dutch Prosus, the parent company of Movile, reached an agreement to buy the remaining 33.3% stake in iFood. As a result, it took 100% control of the platform.
The agreement between the parties provides for the payment of 1.5 billion euros, in addition to an additional amount of up to 300 million euros, corresponding to almost R$ 9.5 billion.
We invested for the first time in iFood almost a decade ago and, during this period, Fabricio [Bloisi, fundador do iFood] and team have built a world-class food delivery business, Prosus CEO Bob van Dijk said in a statement.
Also according to Dijk, iFood created a platform that currently serves 330,000 restaurants, as well as having 200,000 delivery partners.
