As of August 19, the SBT made its entry into the metaverse official with the launch of a gallery of NFT’s (Non-Fungible Tokens) works within the virtual environment. The launch of the project is part of the commemoration of the station’s 41st anniversary and reinforces this new moment in the digital transformation process and in the various ways of communicating with all audiences, whether they are fans or potential consumers. The creation, planning, technological production and media strategy are signed by WMcCann.
After becoming the first television network to create and auction NFT’s to the public, SBT has now set up a gallery of these digital certificates. An exhibition with 280 works that portray the history of the station, will be held in the structure of SBT, starting at Porta da Esperança.
Several images can now be acquired in immersive rooms through auction and with the direct sale of articles from R$ 200. Access is free at www.sbtverso.com.br from August 19th, date of anniversary of the broadcaster, until the 16th of November of this year. The works available for purchase portray some of the main moments of the Brazilian channel and its presenters, with photos and elements with exclusive content.
Carolina Scheinberg, new business manager at SBT, points out:
“SBT was the first Brazilian television station to enter the NFTs market. The auction, now in the metaverse, only reinforces our bet on a global trend. With the token trade, we aim to deliver a unique virtual reality experience for the public and SBT fans, with immersive rooms, gold bar challenges, among other attractions. It will be a new window in which the public will be able to consume SBT products in a way never seen before. It is indeed a cultural revolution.”
At the auction, iconic images such as ‘Professor Celsofales’, by Celso Portiolli in the Chaves special, which celebrated the 30th anniversary of SBT, in 2011; the first photo of Celso Portiolli on the program “Passa ou Repassa”, on April 26, 1996; ‘Danilo Sinatra in Concert’, a version by presenter Danilo Gentili, on “The Noite”; Patricia Abravanel dressed as Carmen Miranda, in “Máquina da Fama”; ‘A Pipa do Roque’, by Roque, with a kite in his hand, playing in the “Show de Calouros”, in 1987; a portrait of Eliana on the program “TV Animal”, which featured curiosities from the world of animals, in 1996; six memorable photos by Silvio Santos, among them ‘Quem quer Dinheirooooo’, the phrase that the public most likes to hear from the presenter; among many other images.
SBT’s initiative to commercialize these digital works from its collection via NFT was carried out in partnership with Origgio, a brand owned by InspireIP, a pioneer company in copyright registration through blockchain technology. Origgio provides resources and functionality for content creators and producers to transition to the decentralized environment of Web3. Based on the Polygon (MATIC) blockchain, Origgio is the first and largest sustainable marketplace for NFTs and cryptocurrencies in Latin America.
Caroline Nunes, founder and CEO of InspireIP, explains:
“SBT’s NFT exhibition is revolutionary because through Origgio’s technology we are going to make a direct integration with a metaverse. Everything was tailor-made for the broadcaster and the NFTs can be sold directly in the metaverse. And this integration is the great differential, which is to unite decentralized technologies with the immersion of the metaverse. It’s web3.”
She also adds:
“The SBT NFT auction will allow knowledge about cryptocurrency and Blockchain to reach the entire population. It is much more than a simple NFT auction. It is a cultural revolution.”
