A saga After is one of those spicy romance novels for teens that have been hugely successful in the wake of 50 shades of gray. Tells the story of Hardin and Tessa. He’s a young bad boy with a complicated life. She is a straight forward and studious girl. The two fall madly in love. The first film presents how the two met and started their relationship. It was sooo warm. The second movie – After : After the Truth – it was a little hotter, but still… It shows Tessa getting the attention of a coworker, but Hardin reappears and the two resume their relationship. On the third, After: After the Mismatch, Tessa and Hardin are back together. But she accepted a job offer in another city, and that could change everything. And now, it opens this Thursday in theaters, After: After the Promise. Ufa!
If you’ve never seen the first three, they’re available on streaming. After e After: After the Truth are on HBO Max and Amazon Prime. After the Mismatch it’s just the last one. It’s interesting to see them all to understand after the promise. But know that it’s teen romance “in the veins”, lol. With all the dramas, crying, disagreements and mishaps. After the promise begins exactly one After the Mismatch ended. Hardin has discovered a big secret from his family and leaves in yet another of his crises. She returns home, and discovers a great tragedy (everything is superlative in After, lol). She decides to leave and goes to live in New York. He tries to win her back, but…
What did I think of the movie?
Tessa and Hardin’s relationship is extremely abusive in the other three films. I ended up getting tantrums from Hardin, so annoying and spoiled, and from Tessa, who continued to accept it all. But finally here, they take some actions that should have happened there in the second movie. There’s even a scene in the New York apartment that is genuinely sexy. That is, in the end, after the promise It ends up being the best of the four films. At least that’s what involved me the most.
In fact, the whole saga is a great novel that seems to have no end. I say this because everyone thought that would be the end of the story, right? #Soquenot. As in the others, nothing is resolved, several ends are loose, and ends with a cliffhanger. Haha! I started to laugh to myself in the cinema when I saw the “the story goes on” sign. Just today a video came out with Hero Fiennes – Tiffin announcing a fifth film – After Forever! And it is already known that two more productions linked to the franchise will happen. One is a prelude, telling how Hardin became so angry in his teens. And another a sequel that takes place many years later. It will show Hardin and Tessa’s two children going through the difficulties of growing up.
