For those who like documentaries, History is always a full plate. And I found the special schedule they announced for independence week to be very interesting. They show little-known facts of the history of our country. I remember that when I studied, little was known about the period between Independence and the Republic. And the period is very propitious to know more.
History even closed a partnership with the Ipiranga Museum. For those who don’t know, it will have its reopening on the 7th. Finally, after nine years closed. The partnership has to do with the famous and recently restored painting Independência ou Morte. The channel will offer a new visual resource for museum visitors. It will be a special and interactive screen. This will allow you to learn more about the history of the painting and its elements. I really want to know. History will even cover the opening ceremony on its social networks.
See below for this week’s special schedule. I was especially interested in Aqui tem History!

The four-episode series is co-produced by Moonshot Pictures and hosted by Eduardo Bueno. It deals with the Brazilian Independence process with a look at the country’s past, present and future. It’s a mix of documentary and talk show. The presenter guides the timeline with the help of historians and testimonials from historical personalities.
the first episode is Independence on the Divan. Eduardo Bueno talks to D. Pedro as if they were therapist and patient. Throughout the episode, D. Pedro reveals the main moments and people in his life. From disagreements with parents to dozens of children. From birth to return to Portugal. From Fico Day to the war against his own brother. It intends to be a look at all of Pedro’s existence. Especially as was the unexpected and contradictory life of the first emperor of Brazil. It’s worth doing a double with the movie premiere, Peter’s Journey.
Brazilian inventors: premieres 9/8, Thursday, 11:05 pm
The production of History is presented by Fernando Henrique Cardoso. Yes, himself, the former president. Fernando Henrique is also co-author of the script, alongside Elio Gaspari. The idea here is to recover the memory of the most influential personalities in the History of Brazil. The series shows how different characters helped to think and build the country. This is the case of Dom Pedro II and Joaquim Nabuco. And yet Euclides da Cunha, Campos Salles, Gilberto Freyre and Sergio Buarque de Holanda. There are other illustrious names. For example, Barão do Rio Branco, Getúlio Vargas, Juscelino Kubitschek.
The premiere episode is Dom Pedro II and Joaquim Nabuco. It shows how different characters helped to think and build the country. Especially the years of reign of Dom Pedro II and the abolitionist ideas of Joaquim Nabuco. then we will have Euclides da Cunha, Campos Salles, Gilberto Freyre and Sergio Buarque de Holanda . I was curious!
Here’s History: premieres 9/5, Monday, 9:10 pm
There are eight short-form episodes. They are led by historian Thiago Gomide and gastronomy journalist Patrícia Ferraz. The series presents curiosities and the influence of 200 years of Independence in Brazilian cuisine. The idea is to tour the main historical points of São Paulo. There, present facts, gastronomic aspects and curiosities. Among them, for example, the origin of the name of Viaduto do Chá. Another will show the delicacies of the monks of the Monastery of São Bento. And also what street food was like in 1822.
the first episode, Viaduct do Chá, Thiago tells the origin of the name of one of the most famous viaducts in the city of São Paulo. Along with Patrícia, they comment on the importance of coffee and tea at the time of independence. I love gastronomy. I loved the idea!
