I remember well when the first John Wick film came out. It was simply called Back to Game, and I was surprised at how he renewed a style, and had a certain surprising freshness. At the time, it wasn’t a big success, at least here in Brazil. It was from second filmIt’s also very good that the character gained this popular aura. Since then, two more have come (which I really don’t like) that have solidified the appeal of the character and his universe. And with success, of course, come derivatives. The film Ballet dancer, with Ana de Armas, which takes place between the last two films, will premiere in June next year and will feature Keanu Reeves. The other derivative is a series called The Continental: From the World of John Wick, which debuted this Friday (22) on Prime Video.
The series consists of three episodes (at super production price), and will have a new episode every week. It takes place in the 70s, that is, without John Wick. It will show the youth of Winston Scott, who in the films was made by Ian McShane. Here, Colin Woodell, from The Originals, plays the role of young Winston. The miniseries will show the origins of the franchise’s iconic hotel for assassins. We will see the adventures and misadventures of Winston and Charon (now played by Ayomide Adegun) before they conquered the New York Continental. In this sense, we will probably also know more about the conflictive relationship between Winston and the High Summit. The villain of the story, in this case, is the owner of The Continental when it all begins. And it’s made by none other than Mel Gibson. He certainly had more fun with this villain.
If before watching The Continental If you want to remember the John Wick films, the first three are on Prime Video and not Globoplay. J John Wick 4 It is available for rent or purchase on digital platforms.
