Created in September 2020, PodPah already has almost 300 episodes. The attraction currently averages 90 million views on YouTube and reached 1 billion views in the last week of November. The content is presented by Igor Cavalari, o Igão, and Thiago Marques, o Mítica, who already had a trajectory of videos for the internet. Among the brands that have already signed a partnership are Habib’s, iFood, Brahma, Guaraná Antarctica, Vans, Centauro and Kenzie Academy. In the interview, the host duo talks a little about their growth in just one year, their creative involvement in the project and working with sponsors. “All the brands that have arrived until today have identified with us”. Follow up.
ONE YEAR
Igão: If you stop to think about a year, it’s almost an episode a day without taking a break. It’s really cool to know that in that time we managed to do a lot. We were the Top 2 of Brazil creators on YouTube, because we deliver a lot. We found ourselves in this. We are very happy.
YOUTUBE
Mythic: We are always renewing, updating ourselves. When the podcast scene was starting, we realized this and decided to create PodPah here in Brazil. We were lucky to get the feel of the parade.
FIRST PARTNERSHIP
Igão: The first big brand that bet on us was Habib’s. It was very organic. We were doing an episode and we had asked for Habib’s, there’s one near here and everybody likes it. It arrived and, in the middle of the conversation, everyone was dying of hunger, then Mythic let out a Habiiiiib’s catchphrase. And the guys saw it and wanted to talk to us. We started in February this year.
INTERNET
Igão: Before the podcast, when I started on the internet, it took me a while to work with big brands. When PodPah started, we also saw that it didn’t have big brands on podcasts. I believe that PodPah brought that it was possible to do projects with big brands.
CREATING TOGETHER
Mythic: I don’t think we even knew how to implement a podcast. We were learning. Brands today come already proposing collaboration, not as it used to be, which was all determined.
DIFFERENT PROJECTS
Igão: We were covering the Libertadores final in Uruguay, we had several brands there. On December 11th we will do the second 24-hour episode, with many brands as well, the first was in March. We focus on these projects because it’s how we manage to differentiate ourselves. We will also cover the final of the Copa do Brasil in Curitiba (PR). Next month we are going to launch our clothing store. We always think about doing plural things, not just the mesacast.
WILLINGNESS TO DO
Igão: We wanted to do one of those overproduced commercials on TV, those gigantic things. We want to do more and more different things, not just insertions.
CREATIVE ENGAGEMENT
Mythic: We get involved in everything. Mainly when choosing guests. That won’t change. The production will never call someone we don’t want. They suggest, but they all pass through our scrutiny.
STRUCTURE AND RESEARCH
Igão: We are around 20 people. Everyone helps each other, we always exchange ideas. We researched the guests. It’s nice to know some things, but not everything, otherwise you don’t get emotional, you don’t interact.
IDENTIFICATION WITH PARTNERS
Mythic: I think that all the brands that have arrived until today have identified with us. It is a natural disclosure, because it fits with us and our audience.
CANCELLATION ON FLOW
Igão: You are subject. But I believe that if you are convinced of your ideas and do not act in a wrong or bad way, this will happen, but soon they will realize that it is not up to you. We’re pretty cool about it.
RESPONSIBILITY WITH VOICE
Mythic: We know the power of speech we have. You have to be careful.
ORIGINS, PERIPHERY AND MONEY
Igão: We are fully aware of what we are doing. We always get together to keep our feet on the ground, because it was a huge turnaround in this one year. Sometimes it can seem very easy to storie and get paid for it, but there is a lot of work behind it that has qualified us to earn money in 40 seconds.
DAILY ROUTINE
Mythic: We work hard. Because of our playful way, sometimes the guys don’t understand that we work a lot. But we are here every day working, wearing ourselves out. The mental tires. It’s not just about opening and talking. You need to think, make a good line of reasoning, drive well, ask good questions and make the atmosphere pleasant.
PODCAST PODCAST
Igão: The biggest concern is whether this pandemic continues. Nobody can take it anymore. Let’s reinvent ourselves to stay relevant. It’s also important to enjoy it all.
NEWS
Mythic: January has something good.
