Project selected four names to portray communities through art
In partnership with Gerando Falcões, Havaianas launched the “Quebrada Cria” project, in order to strengthen and promote artists from communities in Brazil. The project selected four names to portray with their artistic expressions what these spaces mean to them, stamping four models of sandals.
The team is formed by the duo Robézio and Tereza, from the Acidum Project (Fortaleza and Caucaia, CE), Luis World (from Nacional, in outskirts of Contagem, MG), Jamaikah (from Vila Helenita – Viamão, RS) and Wanatta (from Alto Vera Cruz – East of Belo Horizonte, MG).
To expand the presence of these works in the favela, the brand will sell the products from the collection at a more affordable price in the regions where the artists live, as well as boost the collection at more than 250,000 points of sale throughout Brazil, offering even more visibility. for them.
“The Havaianas soles will be one more channel for publicizing their work. As a way of continuing to encourage Gerando Falcões to give more opportunities to young artists, 7% of the proceeds from sales will go to the association. Our partnership aims to provide even more light and resources for Gerando Falcões to continue this power of social transformation”, says Beto Funari, CEO of Alpargatas.
