The NBA, the American basketball league, is one of the biggest brands in the world, not just when it comes to sports. With a growing investment in South America, the league decided to invest especially in Brazil, in São Paulo. The largest NBA store in Latin America was opened in São Paulo.
The space has more than 1,500m² and is also the third largest in the world. In addition to the store itself, the venue opened by the NBA also has interactive areas, such as courts, locker rooms and historical pieces that have marked the American league. An example of these rarities is a Chicago Bulls shirt autographed by Michael Jordan.
The store, above all, also allows the public to reserve space for meetings and parties. The court can also be reserved for playing basketball with friends, but one of the most memorable places to visit is the terrace. In the exclusive space, fans of the sport can experience a menu equal to what the great American arenas offer.
Check out the Instagram post of the game that marked the opening of the court in the space created by the NBA:
However, the store is not the first in Brazil. The NBA already has 12 spaces like this in the national territory. Roger Ahlgrimm, the NBA’s Director of Licensing and Retail for Brazil commented a bit about the initiative, check out:
“We are very happy to open the NBA Store Arena and welcome Brazilian fans to this incredible space. This megastore, the largest in Latin America, will offer an unprecedented experience for the public, a dive into the best of the league’s universe, a place to be a meeting point for sports lovers. We work every day to create opportunities that fuel the passion Brazilians have for basketball and so that a visit to the NBA Store is always a special moment.”
It is worth mentioning that the store is also home to a unit of the NBA Basketball School, a social program offered by the brand. In the project, young people from 6 to 18 years old learn to play basketball.
