Porta dos Fundos and Paramount+ launch this Monday (13/12), the official trailer for the Christmas Special 2021, “Te Prego Lá Fora”
This year, for the first time, the Special format will be in animation, co-produced by Estricnina Desenhos Animados, a pioneer in the development of animated series in Brazil. The idea is to combine the best of animation, which are the most visual jokes, with the DNA of Porta dos Fundos. The premiere takes place on December 15th, exclusively on the streaming service Paramount+.
In the story, Jesus is a teenager facing problems in high school. In the comic-religious line, the work shows Jesus starting to attend a new school in Jerusalem, where his only friend is Lazarus, his neighbor. He is introduced to different groups of students, including characters such as bully Barabbas and cheerleader Maria Madalena. To survive, he will need to let go of his good deeds and become a “bad boy” in the hope that no one suspects him of being the Messiah.
“I’ve always been fascinated with the endless possibilities that animation gives us. It would be impossible to make this special any other way. This format allows our imagination to go further and we can do more absurd, crazy and unattainable situations, if they were made with real people”, explains Fábio Porchat, creator and screenwriter of “Christmas Special – Te Prego Lá Outside”.
Created by Fábio Porchat and general direction by Rodrigo Van der Put, the characters come to life through the voices of the Porta do Fundos cast. A total of 15 actors play the animated characters in the work. Rafael Portugal plays Jesus; João Vicente appears as the Barabbas; Thati Lopes is Maria’s voice; Fabio de Luca is Lazarus; Nathalia Cruz plays Madalena; Estevam Naboth is God; Antonio Tabet appears as Eliezer; Gregory Duvivier as Jacob; Evelyn Castro is the voice of Daíde and João Pimenta is the character Tomé.
“It was very fun and intense to work with Porta dos Fundos on one of the biggest and most anticipated projects of the group annually. See these beasts up close, acting so professionally and having fun at the same time. This ends up being printed in the film, leaving everything more organic and alive”, says Cazé Pecini, one of the founders of Esttricnina Desenhos Animados.
The cast also features Fábio Porchat as Herod and Jaqueu; Rafael Infante as Brian and Salomão; Totoro as Bartholomeu, Soldier and Father of Madalena; Noêmia Oliveira as Inês and Abdala; and Joel Vieira as Perverted Head, Man of Sodom and Owner of the Cow.
Synopsis
Everyone knows that being a teenager is not easy, especially when you are a demigod with unlimited powers and risking being crucified at any moment. This is the life of Jesus Christ in his new school.
