The work of promoting The Batman continues. To talk a little bit about her work on the film, Zoe Kravitz, who will play Seline Kyle, Catwoman, talked a little about how it was working on the project. The actress gave the interview to the magazine Empire, which also released some new footage from the film.
Kravitz talked a lot about learning new fighting styles and choreographing the action scenes in the movie. As is to be expected, Catwoman has almost her own style of confronting her enemies. What stands out is that, according to her, many movements were inspired by a Brazilian struggle: capoeira.
“We watch cats and lions, how they fight, and talk about what’s possible when you’re my size and Batman is so much stronger. What is my skill? Be quick and full of tricks. So we did interesting choreographies that incorporate different styles of martial arts, capoeira and dance-like movements.”
In addition to information about the movie’s fight scenes and the styles the production plans to introduce, Zoe also talked about the reading The Batman brings to her character. As previously mentioned, the film seeks to give a vision of its characters at the beginning of their career. Check out the words of the actress:
“This will be an origin story for Selina. It will be the beginning of discovering who she is, as well as being someone trying to survive. I think she has a lot of room to grow and I think we’ll see her become someone I’m sure will be a femme fatale.”
Yesterday, December 21, the film also received a promotional poster released by the director himself, Matt Reeves, on his twitter. In the new art, the protagonist, Batman, unites with a red question mark, which forms around his head, representing the villain Riddler, check out:
The film promises to give a new tone to Batman. The production will star Robert Pattinson, who will play a reclusive Bruce Wayne and a hero slightly more out of control than previous versions. The film opens on March 3, 2021 in Brazilian cinemas and already has the official trailer available:
