Campaign also has a multifaceted strategy that includes a combination of digital and in-person activities
Politize! announced the launch of a campaign entitled “Umbora! – Politics is not a big deal”, which aims to transform the perception of politics among the population.
The piece was inspired by Brazilian folklore and the cultural diversity that permeates all regions of the country to address the challenges and ensure robust participation of young people in the 2024 elections.
In addition to the video, the campaign also has a multifaceted strategy that includes a combination of digital and in-person activities, such as workshops, street stalls to promote constructive dialogue and specialized training sessions for educators and students in the public education network, such as the “Active Citizenship School Program!”, which will offer teaching materials.
“Our levels of culture and political participation are low, and we still fail to prepare our population to participate in the electoral process. Umbora! will simplify elections for all of Brazil, exploring the myths, rituals and traditions of Brazilian folklore bringing them to the Brazilian political context and addressing important concepts and debates to enable electoral participation”, said Luiza Wosgrau Câmara, Manager of Politize!’s Communication Center.
